BIAFRA: Professor Wole Soyinka on Biafra

About 3 years ago, precisely in July 2014 Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nigerian poet, playwright and activist, who was the first black African to be honored with the Nobel Prize for literature in 1986 sat down in Abeokuta, Nigeria granting an all important interview to an Al-Jazeera journalist on the talk to Al-Jazeera segment.

Prof. Wole Soyinka expresses his views on a few controversial issues of his generation (on Biafra and his take on the agitation for Biafra), as he his deeply committed to social justice and the arts which has been a thorn in the side of many Nigerian dictators – his outspoken activism landed him in jail and eventually forcing him into exile.
